ScanLeaf AI: Photo to eBook

Effective date: October 3, 2026

Scope and contact

ScanLeaf AI: Photo to eBook (ScanLeaf AI) helps you scan book pages and create ebooks. This policy applies to the app and scanleaf.vnworks.tech website. The service is operated by the ScanLeaf AI development team. For privacy questions and data requests: info.vnworks@gmail.com.

Data we process

Account data: email, display name, an optional profile image, and a hashed password for email registration. Google sign-in provides verified account information and an available profile image. Content: page photos, PDFs you import, book titles, authors, covers, recognized text and generated EPUB, DOCX and TXT files. Transactions: credit balance, usage history, orders and purchase verification information. Technical data: IP addresses and network request information may be processed by our server and infrastructure providers to deliver and secure the service. Drafts, display preferences and reading positions are stored on your device.

How we use data

We use data to authenticate and manage accounts; upload and process documents; recognize text and create, store and download ebooks; manage credits and verify payments; provide support, address errors and protect the service. We do not sell personal data or use your book content for targeted advertising.

Third-party services and AI processing

When you start creating a text ebook, page images are sent to a third-party AI text recognition provider to convert them into text; personal information may be present in the images. Do not upload sensitive documents if you do not want that content processed by an AI service. We use cloud infrastructure providers to deliver and store data. Google supports sign-in; Google Play and the App Store verify in-app purchases. Each provider receives only the data needed for its part of the service and processes it under its own terms. Data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence.

Device permissions

The camera is used to scan pages or capture covers. Photo and file pickers let you select content to import. You can deny or revoke permissions in device settings; related features may then be unavailable. Sharing an ebook with another app is initiated by you.

Retention and security

Account and library data are retained to provide the service until you delete the content or account. We use HTTPS for transmission, hashed passwords and authentication to restrict access. No system can guarantee absolute security. When database backups are enabled, daily copies are retained for approximately 14 days and weekly copies for up to 57 days; deleted data may remain in these copies until they expire. Third-party providers have their own retention periods. Files you have downloaded or shared are not removed from your device or external services when your account is deleted.

Request account deletion by email

Account deletion and your choices

You can edit account information, download ebooks and delete books in the app. To delete your account and associated data, open Account → Delete account and confirm. This removes your account, books, profile image and linked transaction records from the active system; backups expire as described above. To request deletion without reinstalling the app, contact the privacy email at the top of this page from your registered email address with the subject “Delete ScanLeaf AI account”. We may need to verify account ownership; do not send your password. You can also contact us to request access, correction or deletion under the rights applicable where you live.

Children and policy changes

The service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete the relevant data. We update this policy and its effective date when our data practices change, and provide appropriate notice of material changes.
